January 2008 NEW CLASS Beginning Heirloom Sewing Learn basis heirloom by machine techniques as you make either a Christening dress or a girl's party dress. You will use Swiss Batiste and French laces to create a garment of your own design. Basic sewing skills and a sewing machine (in good working order) that can make a zigzag are all that is necessary. (6 classes every other Thursday beginning January 24, 2008) Day & Time: Every other Thursday 6pm-8:30pm Dates: January 24 February 14, 28 March 13, 27 April 10 Tuition: $150 + Kit Fee So that kits can be cut and assembled students must register and remit payment for class and kit prior to January 12, 2008. After January 12, no refunds or credits will be given. Sewing Hint: Did you know that your sewing machine needle can make the difference between an item that looks professional and one that has that "loving hands at home" appearance. If you could look at your machine needle point under a microscope after only an hour of sewing, it would look like craters on the moon. All those craters will effect the quality of the stitch and if the needle is dull enough fabric damage can result. In addition a dull or bent needle can actually create an expensive sewing machine repair. |
